More than seven hundred years ago, at Dan-no-ura, in the Straits of Shimonoséki, was fought the last battle of the long contest between the Heiké, or Taira clan, and the Genji, or Minamoto clan. パトリック・ラフカディオ・ハーン（1850年6月27日–1904年9月26日）は、ギリシャとアイルランド出身の作家・翻訳者・教師で、日本の文化と文学を西洋の主流世界に紹介する上で重要な役割を果たした。『怪談』などの伝説・怪奇物語集で知られ、1890年に日本へ移住して帰化し、小泉八雲と名乗った。
