So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.

Sobre o livro
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is an 1865 English children's novel by Lewis Carroll, telling the story of a little girl who falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world of anthropomorphic creatures. Regarded as an example of literary nonsense, it plays with logic and has stayed popular with adults as well as children. In the opening passage, Alice, bored by her sister's book, chases a pocket-watch-carrying white rabbit down the hole.
