Sobre el libro

This is Ryūnosuke Akutagawa's short story 'In a Grove'. After a samurai's violent death in a bamboo forest, a series of testimonies is given—by the woodcutter, the bandit, the policeman, the wife, and the dead man's spirit—but each account centers on the speaker and the key details contradict one another. The truth remains hidden, and it is precisely this that makes the work a classic on truth and subjective narration.

Sobre el autor

Ryūnosuke Akutagawa (1 March 1892 – 24 July 1927), also known by his art name Chōkōdō Shujin, was a Japanese writer active in the Taishō period who is regarded as the "father of the Japanese short story". He died by suicide at the age of 35 through an overdose of barbital, and Japan's premier literary award, the Akutagawa Prize, is named after him.
